Arg! Nerd Overload!!!

There are several things I want to talk about. Since my last post, I have received Vols. 1-2 of Ultimate X-Men and have also acquired vols. 3 and 7 via work (they were on sale for $3.50 each!). I haven't found time yet to start getting into it because I've been bogged down with Guild Wars, prop making and work.

Right now I'm reaching the end of my first legit commission and am very excited about it! It's the chainsaw from Kuroshitsuji that Grell uses and it looks really awesome so far! This version is 1000x better than the old one I had a couple years back! After I get this one shipped out, me and dad will be making 1 or 2 more and selling them at a flat rate of $120 each to get some quick money now that we know for sure how to go about it. Our next project after the chainsaw will be a weapon from WH40k. I've also been thinking of buying some of that awesome Wonderflex and making some armor pieces to see how well it works out and if I can do it well enough that I can actually sell something through it. We shall see!
Chainsword!
As for Guild Wars, I'd say I'm advancing quite a bit. I've beaten both Prophecies and Eye of the North and am now working on both Factions and Nightfall (I don't care too much for either one at all). So lately I've been addicted to it (and have been jokingly called a "GW Junkie"). Right now I'm saving up to get the Silver Eagle Prestige Armor for my main warrior character. I'm getting there slowly, but I'm sure I can get it within a month or so if I play it heavily enough.
Hero, Fellow Guildie, Me, Awesome Friend, Hero and Jora (only hero worth naming)

Work has been...tolerable I suppose. I was seriously considering just walking out and saying "fuck you guys!" on the way out of the door, but instead I decided to be a responsible adult and suck it up. I cut my hours to 3 days a week, but apparently that didn't take effect since I'm scheduled 5 days a week still. On top of that, this week is now Spring Break for all the school kids. Joyous day! Now we get to be busy all day long with a bunch of either high or drunk kids! It's just fantastic. Really. Awesome. (/sarcasm)
Did I ever mention I got a new camera? :D

Awwwwwww Yeeeeaaaaaahhh!

So I just placed an order with Amazon and I cannot wait to get my stuff in early March. What did I order, you ask? Here, let me post the pics:

Vol. 1 of Ultimate X-Men (Hardback)

Vol. 2 of Ultimate X-Men (Hardback)

I am just way too excited about these! I seriously just can't wait to get them in the mail so I can start reading them. I'm a big fan of X-Men and all, but I've never read the comics. My favorites have to be Phoenix, Magneto and Mystique. I adore them since they're just so badass.

On a similar side note, I got my order in today from Jinx! I bought the 8-Bit Baby shirt featured in The Guild (link if you don't know what the hell I'm talking about) and one of the "Geek" bracelets. You have no idea how excited I am to wear that shirt to work this Friday.

I should also be getting The Guild's seasons 1-4 in the mail any day now.
Oh, it's also Norn week on ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 site! I love the Norn and I definitely plan on playing as one when it comes out! So far I'm going with the Guardian profession, but it also depends on what the other 2 or 3 professions that haven't been revealed yet are like.

It's just been a really good week. I am such a happy geek right now. Seriously, you have no idea.

I roll my d20! Did I hit?!

Ever since moving to this new place, I've met a lot of nerds and geeks. In fact, they're all pretty cool and are not the stereotypical "acne-ridden-no-social-life-reject" that they were made out to be since forever how long ago.

I have recently started roleplaying with a small group of friends. Now mind you, we do not dress up. We do not LARP (live action role play). I play a fighter character named Beatrix (yes, inspired by the general from FFIX). Melee is always so much better and way more enjoyable to play than any other role in my opinion. I used to play as a magic user in MMOs and stuff, but it just wasn't fun. Actually, it sucked. A lot.

Currently we are playing Pathfinder. I want to try out WH40k since I've been told it's really awesome by a few friends. I'm not entirely sure anymore as to what I'd play as in WH, but I'm sure they'll kick some major ass (just the way I like it!).

I look forward to playing many more games/campaigns in the future~!

Well, until next time, I leave you with a late night doodle from last game night. ; )

Wonderflex, Y U SO EXPENSIVE?!

So I discovered a nifty product called Wonderflex. It's a thermoplastic material that you can bend and morph into any shape with the help of a heat gun. It is also fairly light weight and you can make some pretty cool shit out of it like armor. It also is able to bond to leather, wood and fabric. Here is a great example of what you can do with Wonderflex:

Armor and all work made by Kamui

So I decided that once I got my paycheck, I would buy some so I could make some bad ass stuff. However, I did not realize how much this shit costs...It's absolutely ridiculous! As far as I know, there are only 2 US sites that sell Wonderflex. One is cheaper than the other, but their sheets are also smaller. Cosplay Supplies is the site that offers the cheaper/smooth Wonderflex whereas Dazian sells the more expensive, but larger sheets.

At the moment, I am in a conundrum...Should I spend a little more to get the bigger sheets or save money and buy the smaller ones? As I said before, I don't really know what I'd make, but I do know that I want to make something.

On a completely out of nowhere side note, I am suddenly able to draw again! I've drawn 5 pictures already since last night and I'm mostly proud of them. And on another random thought, I now own a mountain bike! It was $25 at Goodwill and I need to replace the back tire. That is something I can handle quite easily. Everything else appears to be in working condition on the bike, so I'm a happy camper!

Until the next time I am able to update, bye-bye~!

Behold! My Tonberry King. :D
